This is my first ever record. I remember hearing someone say how they put out their first record at 60 and I thought to myself “there’s no way that can be me I have to make something NOW” and so when I was 20 I got my college friends together and we made this record.

The record is a mix of standards and originals about a 50/50 split.

Awakening was a fully improvised piece we played at the end of the studio time, Everyone was super tired and was just swinging for the fences. its a cool vibe looking back.

Secrets from the Streetlights was written during a minor snowstorm I was looking out our apartment window and I saw the streetlights shining through the snow and it was just a little magical moment.

Dashunia was written for my wife (girlfriend at the time) while we were in Florence together. I was awake after she had fallen asleep and I wrote it on this cheap 35$ guitar we had bought in Spain. I was just so grateful she was in my life then and wanted to write something about her.

Indigo Fields I wrote when I was 18 I think for a class assignment, I recorded an early version of it actually with some other people at Berklee.

Anhedonia I wrote during finals I was pretty cooked and tired of doing schoolwork hence the name.
